Elsie Louise Hansen, 92, of Harlem, MT passed away January 16, 2020 of natural causes. She was born April 30, 1927 in Chinook, MT to Carl and Erma (Rafter) Klungland of Hogeland, MT and was the oldest of five children. Elsie attended elementary school at the Wing school and graduated from Harlem High School in 1945.

She worked one year at Brekke's Grocery Store before marrying her high school sweetheart and "love of her life" Kenneth (Kenny) Hansen in 1946 and lived on the farm south of Harlem. Kenny passed away in 1978 of cancer.

Elsie kept busy with her church and making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She belonged to Busy 20 Club, the Harlem Senior Center, and was a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed playing Canasta, baking, making ceramics, and loved to dance.

She is survived by her three sons Kenneth Hansen of Harlem, Kurtis (Ginger) Hansen of Chinook, and Kraig (Renella) Hansen of Chinook. Grandchildren Cindy Ku of San Antonio TX, Jessica (Kevin) Aberg of Chinook MT, Kent (Jenna) Hansen of Aberdeen SD, Kevin (Kimberly) Hansen of Hilger MT, Rachel (Johnny) Thompson of College Station TX, Clinton (Marija) Hansen of Chinook MT, Kevin (Janel) Jasinski of Bozeman MT, Garrett (Shelli) of Bozeman MT, Taylor (Patty) Tollefson of Riverside CA, and Lacey Tollefson of Havre MT. Great Grandchildren include Eric Ku; Amalie and Mason Aberg; Elliott and Emmett Hansen; Kenzie, Kyler, and Keiten Hansen; Ananiah and Josiah Thompson; Tayjah, Easton, and Chase Jasinski; and Vaeda Velk. Siblings Betty Campbell of Havre MT, Carol Newbauer of Great Falls MT, Dale (Vonnie) Klungland of Harlem MT, and Gloria (Thum) Mummey of Boulder MT, and many nieces and nephews.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Erma Klungland, her husband Kenny Hansen, grandson Eric Hansen, granddaughter Julie Hansen, and daughters-in-law Ann (Burkhartsmeyer) Hansen and Adele (Hedstrom) Hansen.

Funeral services will be held at the American Lutheran Church of Harlem at 11:00 am on Friday January 24th, 2020, with reception to follow. Burial will take place at Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook, MT at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to the American Lutheran Church of Harlem or the Harlem Senior Center. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilderness Funeral Home of Chinook.
