Kadie Dahl completes a sale during the Grand Opening of her new store. 'All Dahl'd Up' opened for business on Friday, November 27 on Main street in Chinook. The new business features Woman's clothing as well as professional grade makeup and skin care products.

The Parade of Lights, a staple of the Holiday Season in Chinook, was downsized considerably due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but it still included something new.

On Friday, November 27, a new business opened up in town and the community showed up in full force to welcome 'All Dahl'd Up' to the main street Chinook business community.

Owner Kadie Dahl was overwhelmed by the support, "It was great, the community was really supportive. It was humbling."

Kadie along with her Husband Daniel and children Boone, Rutledge and Alice have called Chinook home for the past five years.

The family has fit in really well in the community. Daniel, as owner of Wilderness Funeral Home in Chinook, Chairmen of the Chinook School Board and Chamber of Commerce Daniel has gotten a lot of the attention from the community, but now it's Kadie's turn to share in the spotlight.

"I have always wanted to be my own boss," Kadie stated. "I did some health and wellness and then I really found my nitch with makeup and beauty."

Kadie has been actively pursing her desire to be her own boss prior to opening All Dahl'd Up, "I've been selling makeup online for the past three years but I felt a need to broaden my reach and go into the brick and mortar side of the business."

The first step was to find a suitable location, "I was having a conversation with Keith (Hanson) about making some caskets and we began talking about a building that he had for sale. I talked to Kadie about it and she was extremely excited. She got the ball rolling and took off with it," said Daniel. That building was the former home to the Kuhr Clothing Company which closed its doors in 1999.

In a unique twist, the Kuhr Clothing Company closure was the last business in Chinook that sold any type of clothing, and Kadie was looking to fill that void, "We felt like Chinook could really use a clothing store for women."

Not wanting the opportunity to slip away Kadie was proactive, "Daniel likes to take a slower approach to projects, and I didn't want to give him a chance to back out, so I went all in and started looking into a design for the building."

Kadie's vision soon began to take shape and with a new custom designed sign on the store front things were nearly complete, "I liked the rustic and industrial look and with Pintrest becoming my best friend, we figured out a design that I really like."

Kadie had several factors play into her approach with the store, "I initially got into makeup, because I had a loss of confidence, and for me to be able to see the transformation that can happen within people after properly applying makeup and the confidence boost it can provide really motivates me."

Daniel is extremely proud of Kadie and what she has accomplished, "Kadie has always been pretty entrepreneurial and has always wanted to own her own business, she found a real good purpose. She struggled with self esteem and makeup helped get her out of her box. I'm really proud of her with what she has been able to overcome and accomplish with her self esteem."

The support she has been show by the community has been very appreciated, "She loves it, I get some attention from the community and she works really hard to support me," said Daniel. "She has to deal with the chamber and the school and she is a tremendous mother and has done so much to support me."

The goal of her business venture is noteworthy, "My mission with the store is that any woman can walk into my store and leave with their confidence boosted by an outfit or makeup," said Kadie.

All Dahl'd Up is open Wednesday 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. and Thursday and Friday 10:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday of the month from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

All Dahl'd Up features Womans clothing from size small to 3X as well as professional grade makeup and skin care products. "I'm hoping to be able to some sort of community get together where we can do makeup classes and sip wine, make it a bit of a spa day," added Kadie. "I do a lot of makeup tutorials on Facebook on my personal page and people more than welcome to add me as a friend." Stay up to date with store information on the All Dahl'd Up Facebook page.

"I'm so excited to see her in the spotlight a bit with her business and watch her shine," said Daniel. "She is going to do great with it and we can't wait to see how far she goes."
