Lori Miller Takawira to Speak at Chinook Alliance Church May Day Garden Party

Lori Miller Takawira will be the guest speaker at the Chinook Alliance Church May Day Garden Party at 6:00 p.m. on May 1.

The Chinook Alliance Church will be hosting a 'May Day Garden Party', May 1, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

Lori Miller Takawira will be the guest speaker during the program. A meal will also be served to all in attendance. Tickets will be available at the door with proceeds going to a Mission Group of Lori's choice.

Who is Lori Takawira? Well she was born in Havre, MT and is the daughter of Perry and Pauly Miller. Lori calls both Pennsylvania and Montana home and traveled back and forth between the two states during her childhood years. Lori credits her late Grandma for leading her to the Lord when she was five years young. Lori has a strong faith that has developed and grown over the years.

Lori attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she received her Bachelors as a Special Education Teacher and her Masters in School Administration. Lori began her career as a Special Education teacher before transitioning to a District Instructional Coach. In time she took a job with Johns Hopkins University as a School Transformation Facilitator and Senior Instructional Facilitator


In this position she was charged with implementing School Transformation across the nation and worked with multiple schools, educators, and district personnel all over the US. Lori will be returning to Special Education in the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.

After calling Tulsa Oklahoma home for 18 years, Lori returned back to the Hi-Line about 21 months ago. Lori is married to Munya who hails from Zimbabwe, Africa. Munya accepted the Head Pastor position at the Community Alliance Church in Havre, where the couple has been ministering since their move to Havre.

Lori enjoys the Women's Ministry and also serves as one of the youth leaders at the church. The couple have two children, Tyrone (22) and three year old Kaius. Tyrone currently attends college at Ashesi University in Ghana, Africa.

Lori and Munya have been involved in the ministry for many years. Lori has a great amount of passion for her family, missions work, ministry, traveling, and being an educator. Through the years she has traveled to 16 countries and has done a variety of missions work including: building homes and schools, children and youth ministry, women's and men's ministries, marriage and relationship ministry and much more.

Lori loves spending time with family, enjoying the great outdoors, taking on new adventures and running. She is very passionate about being at the hands, feet and heartbeat of her Lord and Savior.
