Blaine County Track & Field Teams Battle Windy Conditions at Havre Lions Invitational

Harlem junior Taya Trottier battled the wind and elements all the way to a second place finish in the 1,600 Meter run and a third place finish in the 800 Meter run.

The Chinook Sugarbeeters, Harlem Wildcats, Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds and the Turner Tornadoes headed to the Havre Lions Track and Field Meet in Havre Saturday. The meet was held at the Havre middle school track and field complex and as seems to be the case every year the teams battle less than ideal weather conditions including extreme gusts of wind.

The Havre Lions meet featured 22 teams representing the Class A, Class B and Class C divisions. The strong field provided the athletes with good competition and despite the strong winds many turned in personal best times and distances.
