Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation (FPPF) are recipients of several recent donations: one from Chinook Ace Hardware, another from Triangle Communications, and a third from Zurich Elementary School students.

On May 17, members of the FPPF accepted a donation of $2,000 from Rob Reid, owner of Ace Hardware in Chinook, saying: "Thank you for your generous donation. We look forward to completing this project."

They also accepted an additional $1,500 from Triangle Communications in Havre. That sum brings the total contribution from Triangle Communications to $2,500.

Finally, on Tuesday, May 25, Zurich Elementary School held a bake sale with proceeds being donated to the pool and park improvement projects. Lead teacher and school administrator, Colleen Overcast thought it would be a good idea to teach the students about community service, and since most of the students use the pool, the bake sale enabled them to show their support. So, practicing alliteration, Overcast encouraged: "Be a baker, be a buyer, or be both!"

"We didn't have enough time to do it up big, but we thought we could scratch a bit together for families and folks in the Zurich area," Overcast said.

For all of this support, President of the FPPF, Heather DePriest expressed gratitude, "It is amazing community members like this that are helping to make our vision possible."
