Chinook High School Honor Seniors Recognized Part II

Crystal Hofer

Chinook High School continues to recognize the efforts of their honor students. To earn Honor Student status, a senior student must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average or higher. Many of these students are not only high achievers in the classroom, but are high achievers in all areas of the school environment.

Crystal Hofer- Crystal is the daughter of Mark and Julia Hofer. Crystal has been a class officer for three years, a member of Science Olympiad two years and involved in NHS for three years. She played Basketball one year, Volleyball four years, three on the varsity team and Golf four years, three of which were on the varsity team. She also achieved Academic All-State, and Most Valuable Golfer. Crystal earned Academic Honors all four years of High School.

Delaney Kellam- Delaney is the daughter of Brian Kellam and Anita Kellam. Delaney has been a member of NHS for three years, and currently holds the office of Vice-President. She has played Varsity Volleyball for four years and Basketball for two years, earning Academic All-State each year. Delaney also received most improved player in Volleyball and MVP. She was selected 1st team All-Conference two years in Volleyball as well. Delaney has been an honor student, staying on the honor roll throughout High School.

Jayden Miller- Jayden is the daughter of Bonnie Miller. Jayden has been involved in sports throughout her High School career. She has played Volleyball and Basketball four years, three of which she played for the varsity teams. Varsity Track four years and Golf one year. She received academic All-State in all of her sports and All-Conference in Volleyball. Other awards she received were Newcomer of the Year, Outstanding Defense, Outstanding Field, Most Valuable Defense and Bob Taylor Memorial Sportsmanship. Jayden was a member of Science Olympiad, Pep Club and NHS for three years. She has been the Class Student Council Representative for three years. Jayden has maintained a high GPA and received Academic Honors every year. She is the Salutatorian for the Class of 2021.

Martin Nussbaum- Martin is the son of Lynette Nussbaum. Martin was a member of International Travel club for three years. He was in Track two years and a Basketball Manager one year. He has maintained honor status throughout High School. Martin was also involved in Speech and Drama as a Senior.

Garrett Pruttis- Garrett is the son of Joel and Laura Pruttis. Garrett played Football for two years, earning the MVP Scout award as a freshman. He participated in Varsity Wrestling four years, receiving Academic All-State three years. Garrett was a member of the HOCUS group for two years, NHS two years, and is Senior Class Representative for Student Council. Garrett has maintained a high GPA and earned honor Status throughout High School.

Allyssa Schoen- Allyssa is the daughter of John and Tami Schoen. Allyssa has been involved in Cheer and Pep Club for four years, she received Cheer MVP as a sophomore, was Co-Captain as a junior and Captain as a Senior. She also received Academic All State all four years. She played Volleyball one year and was in Speech and Drama and Science Olympiad for two years. Allyssa has been very active in 4-H, serving as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice-President and currently President of her club. The last two years she has been a 4-H Outbound delegate and teen leader. She was in Travel Club for two years and NHS for three years, where she is currently serving as President. Allyssa was Student Body Secretary and now serves as District Student Body Vice-President. She is also the recipient of a Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award.

Rebecca Stroh- Rebecca is the daughter of Robin and Lisa Stroh. Rebecca has been a member of both FCCLA and FFA for four years. As a freshman she was FCCLA Vice-President. She has been Secretary and Reporter for FFA and is the current President. She also earned her Montana State Degree and Equine Entrepreneurship in FFA. Rebecca played Volleyball for three years and Wrestled for four years. She has received the Spirit Award twice, the Neil Neibauer outstanding Underclassman award and Academic All-State all four years. She placed sixth in state as a freshman wrestler, fifth in divisional as a sophomore and this year placed second in State Girls Wrestling as well as being awarded Outstanding Girl Wrestler and Most Inspirational. Rebecca was part of Science Olympiad for two years and Academic Challenge for three years. She was Student council Class Representative for 3 years and is the current Student Body President. She was also District 5 Student Council Secretary and a Girls State Delegate.

Lily Surber- Lily is the daughter of Chad and Vanessa Surber. Lily has served as Class President, received Academic Honors and been involved in Student Council and part of the Academic Challenge Team all four years of High School. She was on the Science Olympiad team two years, FCCLA one year, where she served as Secretary/Treasurer, and DC and International Travel Clubs. Lily is also a four-year Pep Club member, she is currently the Vice -President, and has been in NHS three years where she is the current Secretary. She has played Volleyball, Tennis, and Basketball all four years receiving Academic All-State and letters, in all three sports as well as All-Conference in Tennis. She was chosen as Basketball team captain the last two years. Lily is on the MASC executive board as Communications Director and served as District 5 Secretary and current President. She was also a Girls State Candidate, attended Medstart and 3-day Start-up Academy and is involved in Work2Be Well and National Student Advisory Council.

Austin Swanson- Austin is the son of Clint and Lori Swanson. Austin was in Wrestling for two years and Student Council one year. Austin has been a part of the FFA program for four years, he served as Sentinel for the Chapter his Freshman and Sophomore years.

Delaney Kellam

As a senior he placed in the top three for the State Star Farmer award and was also awarded his State FFA Degree.

Grace Ymzon- Grace is the daughter of Damian and Anne-Marye Ymzon. Grace has been involved in NHS for three years. She was a part of St. Gabriel's Youth Group for two years and played Softball two years. Grace has played Ice Hockey all four years and been the assistant team captain and team captain. As a senior she was on the Montana All State Hockey League. She attended HOBY and has been a part of Western Aerospace Scholars for two years. Grace has also been in Speech and Drama for three years, two of which she went to State, Science Olympiad two years and NHS for three years. As a Senior she played Golf and was also Student Council Parliamentarian.
