On May 8, the winners of the Mother's Day Giveaway, the promotional brain child of three Chinook small business proprietors, were drawn. Shores Floral & Gift, All Dahl'd Up, and Ace Hardware collaborated in a promotion that named Mary Pyette, Carmen Van Voast, and Sandy Evans lucky shoppers.

Winner of the Shores Floral gift basket was Mary Pyette. About Pyette, shop owner Bonnie Weber said, "Mary is finally the subject of a photo instead of the photographer! Congratulations on being a big winner!"

Van Voast won the gift certificate up for grabs from All Dahl'd Up, and Evans will put to use the planter filled with gardening related items from Ace Hardware.

Katie Dahl, owner of All Dahl'd Up, reported that her foot traffic was up on the Saturday before Mother's Day, but she can't be entirely certain how much the Promotion may or may not have helped with sales. "I was closed the weekend before because I had to be out of town, so I'm just not sure. I think my weekend away threw people off."
