The new owner of Shores Floral & Gift, Tomi Simenson invites the community to stop by 304 Indiana Street in Chinook on Saturday, September 11, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., for the store's Grand Opening event.

"We want to celebrate the new ownership of Shores Floral and hope you will bring a friend and browse through the new fall and home décor that's been coming in," Simenson stated.

In addition to a full array of fall décor, there will be fall sangrias and desserts served, as well as door prizes available. Shores will also be offering 20% off on all regular-priced items store wide!

Simenson reported that the tin she ordered has arrived, and she's hoping the facelift on the storefront will be complete in time for the Grand Opening. "I've also contacted Hannah Weber about my sign, and that's about ready as well, so things are falling into place."

During the final weeks of August, the window planters were painted a rich peacock blue, or intercoastal green according to the paint manufacturer; and the gable trim took on a navy blue/dark teal hue that is officially called everglade green. By September 2, the door was coral-a.k.a. poppy pods-trimmed with everglade green. While colors are perceived differently by everyone, the look is a warm, welcoming, and inviting one.

Simenson went on to say that her first month as a business owner has been a good one. She was aware that people were excited for her but couldn't have predicted the extent of that support. "This little community is so awesome, I can't thank you all enough for stopping in and congratulating me, surprising me with gifts, and shopping with me! This little shop makes me so happy, and I love being able to spread that joy doing what I love to do!"

She encourages everyone to attend the Grand Opening, saying: "We are working hard to make it one fabulous day!"
