Community Comes together for Peck Family

October 27, 2021

A Community Fundraiser was held this past Saturday at the Chinook Eagles Club in support of Carla Peck and Family. The fundraiser featured a free will donation pulled pork dinner along with a Gun Raffle and Silent and Live Auctions. As always the community showed up in full force to help the family with medical expenses and related costs. The dinner and auction were both very well attended and supported. "I can't help but feel that everyone came together as a community for the sake of community. I feel fortunate to have been a part of it. We live in a very special place," said Blaine County Sheriff Deputy Kevin Spudic, one of the event organizers. Spudic mentioned that the .308 rifle that was raffled off was won by Mark Weber. In explaining the story behind the riffle, Spudic stated, "Travis (Peck) and I attended a conference together in March that was held in Bozeman. There were several gun raffles. One of the raffles was for that very .308, which I won. Travis and I had ridden together to the conference so naturally we had to ride back together. That's about a seven hour haul. I was relentless in reminding Travis at every possible opportunity during the drive home that I won a rifle and he didn't. I think Travis won in the end!"
