Blaine County Winter Sports Preview is On Its Way, Covering All 4 Blaine County High Schools

December 1, 2021

The start of the High School Winter Sports season is a huge moment for local sports fans along the Hi-line. For many, high school basketball and wrestling fill our entertainment need. With winter bearing down on us, limited daylight and indoor activities taking center stage, what better way to spend the evening.

Basketball and Wrestling are heavily followed in Blaine County, and gyms are filled every week with anxious fans looking to cheer on their favorite teams. The Turner, Harlem and Hays/Lodge Pole Basketball teams along with the Wildcat and ‘Beeter wrestling teams kick off their season with their first competition this weekend. The Sugarbeeter basketball teams will begin play next week in Shelby at the Preseason Tip-off Classic.

Each year the Blaine County Journal likes to introduce this years teams to the community. We will be doing our Winter Sports Preview in next weeks edition. Included will be full rosters for each team, complete schedules with the latest updates and coaches comments regarding their specific team.

Full review of this weeks competition will also be included in the December 8 edition as well. The Blaine County Journal covers eight girls and boys basketball teams in Chinook, Harlem, Hays/Lodge Pole and Turner, as well as girls and boys Wrestling teams from Chinook and Harlem. We cannot get to each teams event and rely on Coaches, Administrators, Parents or followers of each team to help provide us the outcome for each competition.

We will do our best to research, track and follow each contest through NHFS or other available Social Media outlets to ensure each team is represented fairly in our paper. If your schools results are not included it is because we did not receive any information.

This fall we were very pleased and appreciative of the reliable effort made by Kim Faulkinberry (Lady Cat Volleyball), Mike Jones (Chinook Football), Paula Molyneaux (Chinook Volleyball) and Gemma Mount (Hays/Lodge Pole Volleyball). Thank you to Kerry Johnson, Toni Collins, Jamie Berreth and Tammy Edwards for the steady supply of pictures. Without their contribution these teams would not have been covered so well.

If you happen to be at an event featuring one of our local schools, take a pic, send it in and maybe we will use it. Send pics to bcjads@mtintouch.net
