Local Talent Will Be on Display at Art Event

December 8, 2021

A group of local artists will be gathering for the 4th Annual All I Want for Christmas Art Event this Sunday. Held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on December 12, the art event will see some interesting changes this year.

Originally launched by Bonnie Weber and Tomi Simenson who have typically hosted three-four artists in the Shores Floral building every year since 2018, the All I Want for Christmas Art Event will be an expanded affair in 2021. Because Weber and Simenson thought that several other businesses would be perfect for displaying the art of various makers, they inquired with Treasure State Title and Lodestar Land and Home real estate office to invite participation.

Both of those business owners agreed, so this year’s event will be an art stroll of sorts, with people traveling between the three venues to peruse, mingle, and shop. Refreshments and light snacks will be available at all three locations.

The following artists will be displaying and selling their work: Don Greytak (calendars, prints, and original drawings), Tomi Simenson (photography, pencil, Western prints), Terri Meyer (acrylic abstract), Mick Heflin (metal work), Jenna Fox (acrylics), Elizabeth Finley (pottery), Traci Bowles (pencil drawing and iron work), Chris Johnson (pottery and drawings), Anjanette Hawk (photography), Ashley Liddle (permanent florals on antlers and skulls), Bobbi Klingaman (leather purses), and Kirsten Matkin (art prints and ink stippling). Although Weber didn’t have confirmation at the time of this story’s writing, at least two other artists may be in attendance.

As a tasty addition to the art, Cindy Haney of Simply Sweet Homemade Candy will be selling her famous fudge. Shores Floral will be open for business and will have 25% off storewide during the event.

In Weber’s recollection, “This event has been very well received. I would describe it as an art reception, with opportunities to buy art from mostly local artists. Finger foods, hors d’oeuvres, wine, punch, coffee, and sweet treats are served to people who stop in, meet friends, and visit while browsing the art.”

Anyone seeking additional information should contact Bonnie Weber (406-945-4119) or Tomi Simenson (406-357-2776).

All purchases at the All I Want for Christmas event will support small businesses and local, Montana-made talent. At events like this, consumers can be assured they are getting something unique and not mass-produced.
