Harlem Wrestling starts anew in Cascade

The Harlem Lady Cat Wrestling Team finished second at the Cascade Invitational earning the first team trophy in program history. L-R: Kaitlynn Johnson, Amelia Blackcrow, Izzy Baker and Ihti Stiffarm

The Harlem Wildcat and Lady Cat Wrestling teams were in Cascade this past Friday and Saturday competing in the Badger Invitational.

A complete roster was not submitted to the Blaine County Journal by press time. Full results of the wrestlers that competed were received through trackwrestling.com and Kerry Johnson.

Competing for the Lady Cats were Izzy Baker in the 103/113 pound girls division. Baker finished third in the tournament. Kaitlyn Johnson also finished third at the Cascade Invitational and wrestled for the Lady Cats in the 132/138 pound girls division.

Amelia Blackcrow wrestled her way to the Championship match in the 145/152 pound girls division. In the end Blackcrow finished second at the tournament.

Rounding out the Lady Cat contingent in Cascade is Ihta Stiffarm who competed at 170/205 in the girls bracket. Stiffarm earned a third place finish as well for the Lady Cats.


Overall it was an outstanding weekend for the Harlem Girls as team. Although their were no team totals for the girls tournament posted by Trackwrestling.com the team was awarded a Second Place trophy for their efforts. This is the first ever team trophy won by the girls team in just its first weekend of it's second season.

The Wildcat boys contingent consisted of Shaide Bell wrestling at 126 pounds. Landen Gray took the mat for the Wildcats in the 138 pound division.

Representing Harlem at 145 pounds was Trent King. The Wildcats had three wrestlers compete in the 160 pound weight class this weekend. They are Hawken Haakason, Marty Snow and Darrius LongKnife. Senior Mikkel Rider rounds out the Harlem contingent as he competed in the 205 pound division. Both team will head to Glasgow this Friday and Saturday to compete in the Scottie Invitational.
