January 19, 2022

Winner of Bee, Bridget Reed, daughter of Anita and Steve Reed, 2nd place, seventh grader Holly Grabofsky daughter of Crystal and Mile Grabofsky, 3rd place, seventh grader Ali Doyle, daughter of Darci and BG Ammen and the late, Jerod Doyle, fourth place Harley Beck, fourth grade daughter of Bobbi and Shawn Beck, and seventh grader, sixth place Preston Egbert, son of Amy and Dallas Egbert.

The Local Spelling Bee was held this past week at the Turner Public School. From this Bee, two contestants will move forward to the County Bee to be held at a later date. Grades 4-8 students were competing, however, new rules for the county bee state that the student must be in grade 5-8. But, to make the bee more fun and give the kids a taste of what's to come, the school allowed the fourth grade students to compete, just for the experience.

The winner of the school bee was Bridget Reed, 8th grader at Turner. Coming in second place was Holly Grabofsky, third, and Ali Doyle both seventh graders. Harley Beck took fourth place while Preston Egbert placed fifth. In the event that neither Reed nor Grabofsky cannot attend the county bee, then Doyle will fill that position.
