We've Got The County Covered

LOCAL SPELLING BEE HELD THIS WEEK

The Local Spelling Bee was held this past week at the Turner Public School. From this Bee, two contestants will move forward to the County Bee to be held at a later date. Grades 4-8 students were competing, however, new rules for the county bee state that the student must be in grade 5-8. But, to make the bee more fun and give the kids a taste of what's to come, the school allowed the fourth grade students to compete, just for the experience.

The winner of the school bee was Bridget Reed, 8th grader at Turner. Coming in second place was Holly Grabofsky, third, and Ali Doyle both seventh graders. Harley Beck took fourth place while Preston Egbert placed fifth. In the event that neither Reed nor Grabofsky cannot attend the county bee, then Doyle will fill that position.
