Turner eighth grader Bridget Reed had herself a ball game Friday night in Dodson. Reed had a huge hand in helping the Tornadoes mount a second half comeback in their 52-44 win over the Coyotes. Reed finished the contest with 22 points.

The Turner Tornadoes picked up the fourth win of the season this past Friday night in Dodson. Turner completed the season sweep of the Coyotes with a come from behind 52-44 win.

Turner began the season with three early non-conference wins, but the District schedule has been tough on the young squad. Looking to get a taste of victory back the Tornadoes were in Dodson Friday for the second meeting between the two teams. Turner won the first meeting at home 43-39 back in December.

The Coyotes came out firing early on, doubling up the Tornadoes 16-8 by the end of the first quarter. Freshman Cassidy Grabofsky scored four for the Tornadoes early on.

Eighth grader Bridget Reed gave the Turner offense a huge boost in the second, scoring eight points before the break. The Turner defense was outstanding, limiting the Coyotes to just four second quarter points to help bring the Tornadoes even at 20-20 by halftime.

The Coyotes scored the opening bucket of the second half, but a nice drive by sophomore Hannah Richman kept the Tornadoes even, 22-22 with 5:30 left in the third.

Dodson managed a slim lead throughout the third. Grabofsky threaded a nice pass into a cutting Reed to keep Turner close, 28-27 with three minutes left in the quarter.

Reed again cut the Coyote lead to one, 33-32 with a bucket down low and again two possessions later with just nine ticks on the clock to send the teams to the fourth with Dodson maintaining a 35-34 advantage.

Dodson scored early in the fourth to push the lead back to three, 37-34. After trading a couple of empty trips down the floor Richman scored underneath off an offensive rebound to make the score 37-36 in favor of the Coyotes.

Turner would take its first lead, 38-37 with 6:47 left in the contest on a beautiful pass from junior Dakota Krass to Reed cutting through the key.

Reed then took the ball on the left wing, faked a move inside, and kicked the ball out to a wide open Grabofsky who knocked down a straight away three for a 41-37 lead midway through the fourth quarter.

The Tornadoes continued to turn that momentum into points, building an eight point cushion and securing a 52-44 win over the Coyotes.

Reed was impressive in the win, scoring 22 points to lead the Tornadoes. Grabofsky finished with 11 in helping the Tornadoes complete the season sweep.

Saturday the girls headed west to Box Elder to take on the district No. 1 Bears. Box Elder brought an unblemished conference mark into the contest and their only loss came to Class A Hardin to start the season.

The task at hand was a daunting one for the Tornadoes to say the least, but the girls played hard and competed start to finish.

Richman led the Tornado effort with eight points. Reed and Krass each scored four in a tough 69-21 setback to the top seeded Bears.

Turner will next take the court at home this Friday as they welcome the Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds to town. Saturday the Tornadoes will host the Chinook Sugarbeeters. Tip-off Friday is set for 5:00 p.m. Saturdays contest is set to get started at 6 p.m.
