Blaine County Library

February 23, 2022

The Blaine County Library Board of Trustees will hold their regular monthly meeting Monday February 28th at 4:30 p.m.

We would like to send a shout out to The Mint Bar for their donation to the library. Their donation will help us provide snacks and other items to aid our children’s programs. We appreciate the wonderful support that this community gives to the library!

February is “Love Your Library Month!” There is still time to fill out a heart and tell us why you love your library and enter your name into a drawing and win a prize! We have a display of red books and a display of “Literary Heartthrobs” to choose from during the month of February. February is also Black History Month, and we have a display of books to commemorate that as well.

We have 2 non-fiction books available this week. Endless ice. Thin air. The threat of dropping into nothingness thousands of feet below. This is the climb Silvia Vasquez-Lavado braves in her page-turning, pulse-raising memoir titled “In the Shadow of the Mountain,” which follows her journey to Mount Everest. Do you want to lower your cholesterol, prevent heart disease, and lose weight - all while eating flavorful meals? If the answer is yes, we have the book for you! “Mediterranean Diet Cookbook for Beginners: 365 Days of Quick & Easy Mediterranean Recipes for Clean & Healthy Eating” by Debby Hayes includes a 28-day meal plan.

“The Paris Apartment” by Lucy Foley is a new locked room mystery, set in a Paris apartment building in which every resident has something to hide. “No Second Chances” by Rio Youers is a blistering, high-octane thriller about desperate love, vengeance, and the precarious pursuit of fame. “The Cage” by Bonnie Kistler is a gripping thriller about two professional women—colleagues at an international fashion conglomerate—who enter an elevator together . . . but only one is alive when they reach the ground floor. “You Belong Here Now” by Dianna Rostad is set in Montana in 1925. Three mysterious orphans show up on a cattle ranch, and after the family takes them in, the oldest orphan is jailed for freeing wild horses bound for slaughter, exposing his dark secret from Hell’s Kitchen.
