Five Harlem Lady Cats were in Dillon June 4-5 to compete in the UM-Western Bulldog Team Basketball Camp. The Lady Cats recruited a Turner Tornado and Dodson Coyote to fill out the roster. Left to right: Maddie Mount, Aaraya Mount, Gracie Sanchez, Emma Billmayer, Kataya Kill Eagle, Raelynne Briere and Dakota Krass and their little mascot, Harlan Mount.

The Harlem Lady Cats are coming off a wild season in which they experienced the highest of highs and some lows along the way. Their season ended at the Class B State Tournament in a showing that surprised a lot of people.

Head Coach Brandon Trottier and the Lady Cats graduated a big portion of their offense, with two moving on to play at the college level. If last season taught fans on the Hi-line anything it's that you should never count the underdog out, sometimes they can really amaze you.

This summer as the Lady Cats look to prepare for the 2022-23 season, Coach Trottier has his schedule planned out and has scheduled four basketball camps for the Lady Cats this summer.

The first took place June 4-5 at UM-Western in Dillon. "I had five Harlem girls, Emma Billmayer, Aaraya Mount, Maddie Mount, Gracie Sanchez, Raelynne Briere, Dakota Krass form Turner and Kataya Kill Eagle from Dodson" said Trottier. The girls finished the team camp with a 1-4 record.

"Last weekend we went to Williston State in North Dakota with only two Harlem girls, Emma Billmayer and Tova Anderson. We had to pick up other girls from Rocky Boy, Jayci and Kale, and Dakota Krass and another from Malta," said Trottier.

Trottier hopes to have more Harlem girls on the next trip, "We will be attending is the Belt Summer Tournament June 24-25 which is guaranteed five games. This one has a lot of great talented teams from all over the state," commented Trottier.

The Lady Cats will conclude their summer schedule next month, "Our last one will be the MSU-Billings team camp in July 23-24. Overall I would like to see more of the Harlem Lady Cats attend these camps just to get that experience since we will be very young heading into the season come November," concluded Trottier.

The Harlem Lady Cats are also holding open gyms during the week. Contact Coach Trottier for those times.
