The game this Friday at Hoon Field between the No. 2 ranked Belt Huskies and the No. 3 Chinook Sugarbeeters will certainly have that big game feel. The crowd will be large, the fans will be passionate and loud, and the winner will be Northern C Eight-man Football conference champions. The winner will be the North No. 1 and host a first round playoff game while the loser with be the North No. 2 and travel for the first round of the playoffs.

It's rare for two top teams to meet this late in the season but not entirely uncommon. Belt, then No. 3 defeated then No. 2 Joliet just two weeks ago. Regardless of the outcome both teams are secure in their playoff spot and both the top and bottom of the bracket face similar paths to reach the State Championship game.

The Sugarbeeters will recognize the contribution of their five senior to the program at halftime of the contest and will be playing with plenty of emotion start to finish. Undoubtedly every player on both sides certainly want to win setting up a showdown that will bring the best out of both teams.

Chinook Head Coach Mike Jones addressed this week's match up with the Huskies, "Our approach to Belt is the same as every week. Implement just a little bit more, check the scout, and get better in all facets of the game. We want to be better each and every week. Although we do have a playoff spot, we still want to achieve one of our yearly goals of undefeated on Hoon field."

"I think this is a great night for our seniors as well," added Jones. "We as coaches never promise them anything, just that you will have an opportunity to achieve some goals. The atmosphere I think is going to be great and I am happy that these kids are able to feel this at home for their senior night. It is also nice to have a bye the next week so that we are able to prepare for the first round of playoffs as well."
