A great time was held a couple weekends ago on the Big Flat when the Turner School celebrated Homecoming festivities all week long. The week was kicked off with various dress up days at school and all students asked to participate. A favorite always seems to be Pajama Day, and two new ones added to the week were Patriotic Days and Western Days. It concluded with the traditional Green and White Day where students were invited to wear their school colors. The grand finale was on Friday where Homecoming festivities took place at the school and downtown Mainstreet. A carnival was held at the School complete with a haunted house, duck pond, basketball shootout, Bingo, cake walk, concessions, and much more. The day progressed to the Homecoming coronation. The candidates were escorted to Main Street by several vehicles driven by community adults. The candidates were Seniors; Dakota Krass, Charlie Calvert, Juniors; Hannah Richman, Trent Billmayer, Ryan Doyle, Sophomores; Carson Maloney, Cassidy Grabofsky, and Freshman; Bridget Reed. Two Elementary beauties, Isley Welsh and Lucy Grabofsky and Pep Club advisor, Sadie Grabofsky announced and crowned the winners. King and Queen were Dakota Krass and Charlie Calvert. Prince and Princess were Cassidy Grabofsky and Ryan Doyle.

All week long there was a running tally for votes for a pie in the face contest. The adults from the school could be bought with a dollar from the community or students to have a pie thrown at them. At the end of the week, votes were tallied up and the top two places were the recipients of a pie in the face. Superintendent, Mr. Tony Warren and History teacher, Mr. Travis Garrett were the (un)LUCKY ones! They were both good sports and we thank them for that! It was a fun day.

The grand finale was the parade of floats. Each class had floats and paraded down Main Street. Winners were 1st Place: Junior High with the Black Pearl Float. 2nd Place was awarded to the Sophomores with the Ferris Bueller's Day Off. There was a tie for third place with the Seniors float, "Talladega Nights." and the Freshman's float, "Back to the Future." Fourth place was the Juniors float, "Dumb and Dumber."

The Junior High students constructed the winning float at the 2022 Homecoming. It was entitled, "Black Pearl." The students on the float and pictured are: Willie Krass, Avery Fox, Brady Zellmer, Abby Grabofsky, Holly Grabofsky, Ali Doyle, Natalie Richman, Jake Brown, Ty Beck.
