Letter to the Editor

November 23, 2022

Dear Editor,

This letter goes out to the members of the Bear Paw Credit Union.

It pertains to the proposed merger with Altana Federal Credit Union. I am urging all members to vote no on this merger until all facts can be gathered.

I received a letter from the President of the Board of Directors asking for our vote on this issue. Very little information about the tentative merger was mentioned, and they asked that we submit our ballots by 4 p.m. on December 1, 2022. A special meeting will be held that same day at 5 p.m. to discuss this proposed merger. Why would we vote before we had any chance to hear all of the Pros and Cons on this issue.

No mention whatsoever about any meetings prior to the vote was posted. Also, the contact information was not included.

At the end of the letter, the signiture of the president of the board of directors, (which was illegible) and the date of notice was the only contact information available. No mailing information of any board members were listed.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is not the way to address an issue as important as this. We need all the facts. If a merger like this were to go through, the members would need to change all of their personnel information such as direct deposit on their own. There are many senior members who would find hardships in doing this on their own.

Please voice your opinion to the board members and VOTE NO on the Altana/Bear Paw Credit Union merger.

Thank you, Jeff C. Dibblee, member BPCU,
