The Book Challenge for December is to read a book about food. If you have completed the November challenge please let us know so your name can be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate from a local business.

During this holiday season the library offers a great array of Christmas books for your reading pleasure. Stop by to see the display of new titles and old favorites. Three brand new holiday books include “The Christmas Hummingbird” by Davis Bunn, “Dashing Through the Snowbirds” by Donna Andrews, and “Santa’s Little Yelpers” by David Rosenfelt.

Other new arrivals at the library include thrillers “The Shadow Murders” by Jussi Adler-Olsen, “Stay Awake” by Megan Goldin, and “Rules of Engagement” by Stacey Abrams writing as Selena Montgomery.

Rita Woods is the author “The Last Dreamwalker.” After her mother’s passing Layla Hurley discovers the nightmares that have plagued her are actually a power passed down through generations of her Gullah ancestors. As a Dreamwalker she can inhabit and manipulate the dreams of others.

Susan Elia MacNeal has written a historical novel about a mother and daughter who stumble upon a Nazi cell in Los Angeles during the early days of WWII and go undercover to gather information to turn over to the authorities. “Mother Daughter Traitor Spy” is inspired by a real mother-daughter spy duo who foiled Nazi plots in Los Angeles during WWII.
