Young Hunters Fill Their Tags in Final Days of the Regular Big Game Season

November 30, 2022

Garrison Kirschenmann is the Great Grandson of Art and Alice Kleinjan.

The Blaine County Journal is happy to present our next successful group of youth hunters. Sharing the successful hunts of our local youth through the years is something we look forward to sharing with our readers. Maisie Ford, Garrison Kirschenmann, Wylee Simenson and Wacee Simenson highlight this week's quartet.

Maisie Ford has been hunting for four years now and recently successfully harvested her first Bull Elk. Maisie is fifteen years old and loves to hunt. She got this awesome Bull Elk while hunting in the Bear Paw Mountains with her Mom and Dad. Maisie's mother Una stated, "She snuck in on the bull and after a great stalk was able to shoot the bull at 80 yards." Maisie said that she is especially proud of the fact that she thinks she earned this bull after miles of hiking and time spent in the field. After filling her tag Maisie was so happy for those who made her hunt possible.

Wacee Simenson is the youngest son of Tomi and Justin Simenson.

Garrison Kirschenmann is the great Grandson of Art and Alice Kleinjan and currently lives in east Helena. Garrison took part on Montana's Youth Hunter Apprentice program and recently turned 10. While hunting near the Milk river between Zurich and Harlem, Garrison was able to Harvest his first Buck on his Grandparents place.

Wacee Simenson is a sixth grader from Chinook and his brother Wylee is currently a junior at Chinook High School. They are the children of Justin and Tomi Simenson, and both successfully harvested nice Bucks, While hunting with their Dad south of Havre, Wylee took his deer with a perfect shot from his .270. A few days later while on another hunt with their Dad, Wacee took his Buck north of Chinook, also with a .270.

The regular big game hunting season may be over but there are hunts still to come. If you know of a youth hunter that has already filled their tag or does so in the future let us know, we would love to share their story with our readers. Just send a pic and appropriate information to bcjads@mtintouch.net and we will get it in!
