The library is closed today, December 7, in preparation for the Friends of the Library Holiday Wine & Cheese Fundraiser which will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Call the library to see if tickets are still available.

The library is still looking for all kinds of Santa’s to display during the month of December. If you have any to contribute please bring them to the library to add to the “Ho-Ho-Ho-Holiday” cheer!

The Book Challenge for December is to read about food. You may win a gift certificate from a local business.

After School Squad will meet December 14, 3:30-4:30 and then take a break until the New Year. Lego Club will meet December 8, 15, and 22 from 3:30-4:30 but not on December 29.

The Book Club, a book discussion group for adults, will begin in January. You may pick up your copy of “The Home Place” by Carrie LaSeur January 3-6 with the first discussion Monday, January 9, 4:00 P.M. in the meeting room.

Fans of Robert B. Parker will want to read “Robert B. Parker’s Fallout” by Mike Lupica. When two mysterious and seemingly unconnected deaths occur in the small town of Paradise, Police Chief Jesse Stone must uncover the truth and stop a killer from striking again.

“Other Birds” is by Sarah Addison Allen. Zoey Hennessey comes to claim her deceased mother’s apartment at the Dellawisp in Mallow Island, South Carolina. The latest from William Kent Krueger is “Fox Creek.” In a race against time, retired sheriff of Aurora, Minnesota, Cork O’Connor must save the people he loves from ruthless mercenaries.

New Christmas books for your holiday reading include “Home Sweet Christmas” by Susan Mallery, “A Dark and Snowy Night” by Sally Goldenbaum, “Falling Stars” by Fern Michaels, and “A Christmas Candy Killing” by Christina Romeril.
