Hays Lodge Pole senior Daniel Henry will be asked to carry a heavy load this season for the Thunderbirds. Head Coach Derek Shambo says, "I can see in his eyes that he is ready."
The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbird Boys Basketball team has a familiar face back on the sideline for the 2022-23 season. Head Coach Derek Shambo returns to the bench for Thunderbirds after stepping down at the conclusion of the 2019 season. Joining him on the bench is Geno LeValdo and Nate Doney. A season ago Shambo was an assistant for LeValdo in Harlem where they led the Wildcats to a second place finish at the Class B State Tournament. Doney brings a ton of knowledge to the bench and as an EMT will be a huge asset in training the boys properly and assisting with any injuries that will occur...
