Hidden Manna

February 15, 2023

Greetings Brethren in Jesus name. Revelation 2:17: "Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. Today I would like to encourage us all to take a closer look at the Manna experience that the Israelites had in the wilderness and how we as believers relate to that experience.

The Israelites gathered a Gomer of manna per person every morning for their substance, except on the Sabbath. (A Gomer was approx. 6 to 7 pints) They gathered double the previous day and rested on the Sabbath. If anyone gathered more than a Gomer it became wormy and spoiled. What ever remained on the ground melted when the sun came up and it became warmer.

The Lord told Moses to take a Gomer of Manna and put it in a golden pot within the Tabernacle, where it remained and did not spoil or melt. Showing us that there is a mystery behind this substance.

Jesus tells us in Revelation 2:17 that He will give to eat from this hidden Manna to those who overcome.

Most of the Israelites were content to gather every morning for their physical need but never discovered the hidden Manna and how to apply it.

There were many who ate Manna for 40 years and never entered the promised land. They never had fellowship with God or crossed the Jordan. What good is it to be in the Garden of Eden if you are going to spend your time hiding from God?

We can fall into the same scenario and peruse the Word of God in a shallow way, not connecting the Bible to Jesus. Seeing the Word of

God as just historical stories, never finding the mystery of Godliness, which is Christ in us, the hope of glory.

Where can or will we find this hidden manna? So far, we know that this mysterious substance is found in a golden pot within the Ark.

When we come to understand that The Golden pot with it’s Manna is a picture of Christ. The Manna in the golden pot is seeing Jesus in His God Nature granting us eternal life.

Let us read the Bible and listen to sermons for the deeper, hidden meaning. So that Christ Jesus becomes the spirit that transforms us into the image of Christ.

The hidden Manna can only be of value to us if we become a golden vessel as well. Which is what happens when we become born again into a godly vessel and new creature in Christ.

2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
