Timmy "Tim" Ray Cowan, was born on December 20, 1961, to Theresa and Harold "Keith" Cowan. He grew up on the Cowan Ranch in Turner, Montana, attended school at Turner Public Schools where he graduated in 1980. His Dad passed away in 1975, leaving Tim and his younger brother, Rusty, to help their Mom manage the ranch. Tim grew up quickly, but his love for the land and cattle never made this a job for him. In 1983, he married Cindy McCracken, and they were blessed with two children, Keith and Cheryl Cowan. His family was his life. Tim was diagnosed with Lymphocytic Leukemia and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in December of 2009. He told the doctors cancer would not beat him, and it did not. He underwent a bone marrow transplant in 2011 and his determination allowed him to overcome another obstacle. His son, Keith, took ownership of the ranch which also gave Tim peace knowing he could remain the "boss" yet live where his roots were.

Tim gained his angel wings while sleeping quietly in his own home on March 7, 2023. He had overcame so many obstacles in the past 14 years and was blessed to live his life on the ranch as he had dreamed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold "Keith" Cowan in 1975, Mother-in-law Virginia McCracken in 2019 and Father-in-Law Lynn Alden McCracken in 1969.

He is survived by his children, Keith and wife, Sarah, Cowan and two granddaughters Tessa and Macy who reside on the Cowan Ranch in Turner. Daughter Cheryl and husband Curt Westland, and two grandsons Coy and Callen who reside in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.

Mother of his children and friend, Cynthia Cowan, who resides in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.

Mother, Theresa Cowan of Havre, Montana and brother Rusty Cowan and wife Tracy, of Great Falls, Montana.

Brothers in law, Kelly McCracken of Turner, Montana, Bruce and wife Debbie McCracken of Great Falls, Montana, Doug and wife Tracy McCracken of Chinook, Montana and John McCracken of Whitehall, Montana.

Many nieces and nephew who he was so very proud of.

He made an impact on many lives and will be greatly missed!

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Turner-Hogeland Lions Club or the Turner Volunteer Fire Department.
