June 14, 2023

Richard Kuntz was born November 18, 1947, at Fort Belknap, Montana to Jacob and Mary (Ereaux) Kuntz. He was the 11th of 13 children.

He graduated from Harlem High School in 1968 after several attempts. He would attest to how hard that was to accomplish! Following High School, he volunteered for the draft and received orders to report to Butte, MT. He was inducted into the Army, and he served as a medic in Virginia and Germany from 1969-1971.

Upon his return, he worked with his Dad until he eventually bought him out. For many years, he ran the city garbage routes and delivered freight. Richard also worked for the Harlem School District as a janitor and bus driver. He safely delivered children, some of whom were the 4th generation of a single family. He was an avid fan of High School sports and especially enjoyed rooting for the Harlem Wildcats. He drove many Harlem activity school buses.

Richard also had a love of professional sports, especially the Washington Redskins, who he never recognized as "Commanders", The Green Bay Packers, and the LA Dodgers.

Richard married Ann Charlene Cowell on August 2, 1980. They were married for 42 and a half years and gave birth to 3 sons – Kole, Troy, and Sid Kuntz. Through their sons' marriages, they were able to add 3 daughters – Suzette, Jessica, and Rami Kuntz. In addition, they welcomed 9 grandchildren into their lives – Anthony, Jerzy, Raina, Rosalie, Derek, Sasha, Lexi, Timothy, and Kara.

Richard and Ann made their lives in Harlem and were just beginning to enjoy retirement together.

Richard went home on May 29, 2023, to be with God.

He leaves behind his loving family, siblings – Mickey, Marilyn, Judy, Monte, Evelyn, Reuben, Clarice, and Jack. He also leaves behind his furry little companion Tater.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jake and Mary, and siblings Bobby, Elaine, Lorraine, and Charlotte.

He was laid to rest at Harlem Cemetery with Military Honors. A wake was held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 4pm at Wilderness Funeral Home in Chinook.
