Chinook Lions & Harlem Swim Teams Shine at Roundup Meet

Chinook Lions Swim Team

The Chinook Lion and Harlem swim teams were in Roundup June 24-25, with both teams performing very well. The Lions again secured several High Point Trophies while the Harlem swimmers got quality time in the pool for their up and coming younger swimmers.

The Lions were led on the day by Katie Tilleman who broke the Federation record in the 13-14 Girls 50 Meter Butterfly by completing the two lengths of the pool in :30.92. Tilleman also captured gold in the 50 meter Freetsyle with a time of :29.13. Tilleman captured her third win of the weekend in the 100 Meter Backstroke winning the event with a time of 1:17.30.

Brockton Elliot took home another High Point Trophy, winning all three of his individual events in grand style. Elliot first won the 200 Meter 15-19 boys Individual Medley with a time of 2:48.24. Elliot also captured the top spot in the 50 Meter Fly with a time of :29.50 as well as the grueling 100 Meter Butterfly in 1:11.13.

Daniel Tilleman had a fantastic swim in Roundup as well. Daniel won both the 100 Meter Freestyle (1:03.36) and the 400 Meter Freestyle (5:38.06). Daniel earned a runner up finish in the 15-19 Senior Boys 50 Meter Freestyle as well (:27.44). Bryce Elliot turned in a fantastic effort in the 13-14 boys 200 Meter Freestyle, winning the even in 2:33.15. Bryce also took 3rs in the 50 Meter Freestyle and 100 Meter Freestyle.

Walter Schoen had a great swim, taking home gold in the 13-14 boys 100 Meter Freestyle (1:03.28) as well as the 100 Meter Backstroke (1:24.84). Schoen also finished second in the 50 Meter Freestyle. Tyler Stephens won both his events, winning the 9-10 Boys 50 Meter Freestyle (:35.90) and the 100 Meter Freestyle (1:31.41).

Mariah Huravitch won the 9-10 Girls 50 Meter Butterfly with a time of :46.64. Huravitch also garnered a second in the 50 Meter Freestyle and a fourth in the 100 Meter Individual Medley. Harper Matkin had a great swim in Roundup, winning the 8 and Under 25 Meter Freestyle with a time of :22.21 and the 50 Meter Freestyle in :51.62. Rachel Stephens won the 13-14 100 Meter Freestyle with a time of 1:09.12 and the 200 Meter Freestyle in 2:35.58. Stephens also finished second in the 50 Meter Freestyle.

The Lions won the 13-14 and 15-19 Mixed Medley and Freestyle Relays as well as the 11-12 Medley Relay.

The Harlem Swim Team got a stellar performance from their 9-10 Mixed Medley Relay team of Sophia Aremsmeyer, Lizzy Baker, Oz Baker and Duncan Kinsey. The quartet finished in 2:16.90 to win the event.

Izzy Baker swam her way to a fourth place finish in the 15-19 Girls 50 Meter Freestyle. Baker added a third place finish in bothe the 50 Meter and 100 Meter Freestyle events. Reggie Doney swam her way to a second place finish in the 8 and Under 25 Meter Backstroke and Duncan Kinsey finished fourth in the 8 and Under Boys 50 Meter Freestyle.
