7th Annual Chinook Golf Course Community Dinner and Auction Another Huge Success

July 12, 2023

Ginger Hansen recently hosted the 7th annual Chinook Golf Course Fundraiser Auction and Dinner. Each year the annual fundraiser has proven to be the most successful fundraiser for the golf course. For the past 7 years this event has raised the most money for the Chinook Golf Course including all tournaments. Ginger has done a remarkable job organizing volunteers and getting donations for auction items. This year was no exception.

To host an event like this takes the generous contribution of many. According to Ginger, "We had people who don't even golf show up with fantastic auction items. We also had people who called and asked how they could help. We had some new help in the kitchen, as well as Inez Halseth, who always gives of her time and talents. Linda Thompson and Meredy Phares helped, also."

Doors opened at 5:00 PM and a social hour took place before a babyback barbecue dinner was served at 6:00 PM. Those in attendance were thrilled with the babybacks prepared by Mick Heflin, Chris Parsons, and crew. The balance of the meal was prepared by Inez Halseth and Ginger Hansen.

Jackie and Alana Gunderson prepared wonderful desserts and also helped with selling dinner tickets and 50/50 tickets which also helped raise money as well. Ginger added, "Khayla Farmer, Lorene Mulonet, and Debbie Ramberg helped to greet guests and keep track of the auction items and what they were selling for. Kevin Elias was once again the auctioneer and his energetic talents helped raise the value of each auction item."

Hosting an event of this stature takes a lot of work to secure the auction items. This year Ginger was grateful to have Chris and Kari Sullivan and their family help haul and secure items for auction.

The turnout was once again fantastic and the support for the Chinook Golf Course has always been great. Ginger Hansen commented, "We certainly appreciated everyone who attended the auction to either support the golf course or bid on items. We haven't forgotten everyone's contribution. We look forward to seeing everyone next year at the 8th annual Community Dinner and Auction."

Ginger concluded, "We are all very thankful to this community for their help in a myriad of ways to keep our efforts successful. Each year, we strive to keep our Golf Course fiscally sound and it requires all of these community minded people to insure that success! We are very grateful for the people who attend, share dinner with us, and bid on auction items."
