Northern Montana Health Care Applauds Local Group for Cancer Assistance

Northern Montana Health Care (NMHC) wishes to recognize the efforts of a local memorial foundation that is providing assistance and comfort to cancer patients along the Hi-line. The Jamie Young Memorial Foundation is set to provide comfort measures to local residents.

The Jamie Young Memorial Foundation (JYMF) was founded in loving memory of Jamie Lee Young, a Havre resident that passed away from cancer in 2022. The mission of the group is to keep Jamie's loving, giving spirit alive by supporting people that are currently battling cancer. In 2022 they held their first-ever Jamie Young Memorial Golf Tournament. They have used the proceeds from this tournament to support several local nonprofit groups.

"JYMF has most recently supplied gas cards to be passed out at the Northern Montana Sletten Cancer Center (SCC) to help patients that are currently receiving cancer treatment, as well as gift certificates for hair appointment for those receiving chemo as their bodies are changing" said Jennifer Young, President of JYMF. "Jamie always expressed how important the little things were when battling this terrible disease, and we want patients to feel loved and pampered", added Young.

"The Sletten Cancer Center at NMHC is proud to work with the JYMF in order to bring these gifts to our patients", stated Sarah Spangler, RN, VP of Patient Care Services at NMH. "Our staff at the Sletten Cancer Center will be able to offer these cards to patients who are struggling with the demands of their illness. We're thankful that the JYMF is partnering with the SCC and providing people in our community with this support."

The 2nd Annual Jamie Young Memorial Golf Tournament is set for August 26th at Prairie Farms Golf Course. For more information on the tournament, please contact Jennifer Young at 406-390-4268.
