'Beeter Volleyball Wins Another Five Set Thriller, Top Fairfield 3-2

Hallie Neibauer slammed home 27 kills in the 5 set thriller while also leading the team in digs with 19.

The Chinook Sugarbeeter Volleyball team only had one match this week. Saturday night they welcomed the Fairfield Eagles to town. Chinook has played four five set matches, and after falling in the first two they have certainly found a way to finish strong winning their last two. Friday night the 'Beeters topped the Eagles 25-22, 18-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-11 to the delight of the hometown fans.

The two teams battled back and forth in a match where both teams had their chances. The 'Beeter attack was solid in the opening set as the hitters slammed home 16 Kills, hitting 170 as a team. Chinook would take the opening set 25-22, keeping fans on the edge of their seat. In set number two the 'Beeter attack was not the same managing just six Kills against seven errors. Chinook did the best they could, but the Eagles evened the match 1-1 with a 25-18 set win.

The two teams faced off in another back and forth set that once again had fans from both teams hanging on to every point. The 'Beeter attack came back to life in set number three as the team collected 18 Kills to earn a hard fought 25-23 set win to go up 2-1 in the match. The 'Beeters struggled to find points in set number four. The Hitters collected 10 Kills, but it wasn't near enough as the Eagles coasted to a 25-15 set win, forcing a winner take all fifth set.

The 'Beeters held the advantage in set number five playing solid volleyball to earn a 15-11 set win and defeat the Eagles 3-2. 'The 'Beeters improve to 2-3 with the win. The 'Beeter attack was solid all night long with the team collecting 58 Kills in the win. Senior Hallie Neibauer slammed home a team high 27 in the win. Junior Rilee Molyneaux added 8 to the 'Beeter tally. Senior Mya Berreth set up the hitters with 25 of the teams 56 assists, Junior Addison Olsen added 17 in the win.

Molyneaux led the team with six Aces, Junior Alexus Seymour served up four Aces on the night. Neibauer collected 19 of the teams 68 digs, Seymour followed with 14 of her own. As a team the 'Beeters served the ball at an 84% rate and received the ball at an 85% success rate. The 'Beeters will host the Rocky Boy Morning Stars this Thursday and then travel to Conrad on Saturday to take on the Cowgirls.
