William Kent Krueger’s latest novel is “The River We Remember.” The people of Jewel, Minnesota, gather on Memorial Day in 1958 to honor the sacrifice of those who died serving our country. The body of wealthy landowner Jimmy Quinn is found floating in the Alabaster River. Sheriff Brody Dern, war hero who still carries the physical and emotional scars of his military service, leads the investigation. Vicious rumors circulate that the killer must be Noah Bluestone, Native American WWII veteran. Dern struggles to find the truth of Quinn’s murder as he puts to rest the demons from his past.

“Tell No Lies” is written by Allison Brennan. The unsolved murder of a young activist leads to the discovery of much darker crimes. Detective Kara Quinn and FBI agent Matt Costa work to uncover possible ties to a high-stakes cartel in the Southwest desert.

Beginning as a joke, Lauren, Madeline, and Sophie build an app that monetizes the mental load of everything wives do for free and perhaps they can get revenge on their exes in the process. Soon the Wife App is born and becomes the fastest growing start-up in New York City. But then life intervenes and the consequences are bigger than anything the three women expect. “The Wife App” is by Carolyn Mackler.

Two new mysteries are “Shattered Dreams,” a Sheriff Virgil Dalton mystery by Frank Hayes and “Dead on Target,” an Agatha Raisin mystery by M.C. Beaton.
