The Chinook Senior Center has had plenty going on recently and this past Halloween it certainly was the place to be for a good time.

The Chinook Senior Center staff, members and volunteers went all out. Manager Ginger Hansen was thrilled to talk about the turnout, "One group dressed up as the cast of the "Wizard of Oz". This eclectic group included Hansen as the Wicked Witch, Kurt Hansen as the Cowardly Lion, Marla McCoy as Dorothy, Gabe Cheatem as the Tin Man and Max Connor's cute grandson as the Scarecrow.

The Senior Center members really enjoyed the costumes and went all out. "Renee Nagy came as a skunk. Our very own centenarian (102) Virginia Olson was a WWII Welderette, not Rosie the Riveter. Lois Butcher came as a Cowgirl; Vanda Montgomery was dressed up as a pumpkin. Lois Pomeroy was ready to look into your future as a Fortune Teller, and Mary Pyette came dressed as a witch," said Hansen.

In order to be properly prepared for Halloween several ladies of the Senior Center got together and assembled little goodie bags for all the young Trick or Treaters. During the trick or treat session at the Senior Center many young kids and students stopped by and enjoyed their treats.

This outgoing group of seniors prove that you're never too old to have fun. Ginger Hansen and the crew are always putting on different social events and everyone is welcome to join. Recently they've been a part of Sugarbeet Festival parade, hosted an Ice Cream Social, Corn Hole Tournaments, and have brought in a variety of guest speakers.

A staple of the Senior Center still happens daily, morning coffee. Rest assured there is always coffee on whatever time you stop in. The Chinook Senior Center offers a great lunch Monday through Friday, come in sit down and visit while you eat.
