The Harlem Wildcats have been knocking on the door for some big victories and, while there has been no shortage of effort, the wins just haven't come. This past weekend, the Wildcats fell on the road 64-54 to the Glasgow Scotties. On Saturday, they hosted the Malta Mustangs, where they suffered a 98-71 setback.

Against the Scotties, the Wildcats garnered 10 first quarter points, seven of which came off the hands of Sophomore Cody McCabe. Meanwhile, the Scotties managed to put up 19 in the frame. Junior Matt Billmayer scored eight and McCabe drilled another three, allowing Harlem to score 18 in the second quarter while limiting the Scotties to just 13, sending the teams to intermission with Glasgow up 32-28.

McCabe continued to have the hot hand, scoring six in the third quarter. Senior Tommy Champagne knocked down a triple and senior Moses Lawrence scored five himself, adding 18 more points to the Wildcat total. Harlem trailed 49-46 heading into the fourth quarter. The Scotties took over down the stretch and secured a 64-54 win over the Wildcats. The Wildcats were paced on the day by McCabe's 22 point effort.

On Saturday, the Wildcats welcomed the Mustangs to the Jungle. Things didn't go well for Harlem from start to finish. The Mustangs held a 23-11 advantage heading into the second quarter and saw that deficit grow to 14 by intermission with the Mustangs up 40-26. Things didn't change in the second half, with Malta taking a 70-46 lead into the fourth quarter. In the end, it was the Mustangs who would secure a 98-71 victory. Player stats were not available at the time of printing.

The Wildcats will play host to the Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds on Friday, January 26. The following night, they will host the Poplar Indians.
