February 7, 2024

As the season winds down, the Beeter Boys are desperately looking to pick up some wins. This past weekend they were home. On Thursday night, the 'Beeters hosted the Fairfield Eagles in a district 1B match up. The Eagles got the best of the 'Beeters taking home a 65-46 victory. Two nights later, the 'Beeters were in Cut Bank looking for another opportunity to pick up a district 1B win. The 'Beeters were unable to claim a victory, falling 63-45.

The Eagles opened up the game with a basket less than ten seconds into the game, setting the tone early. Fairfield went on an 11-0 run before the 'Beeters found the scoring column. Junior Carson Nissen finished with his right hand at the basket to give the 'Beeters their first points of the contest. Freshman Ryan Bell dished off a nice pass to senior Jackson Nordboe for a mid-range corner jumper as the 'Beeters attempted to close the 16-4 gap with 2:22 left in the first quarter. Nordboe found the basket again a minute later, adding to the 'Beeter total. Heading into the second quarter, the 'Beeters were down 23-7 and looking to even the score. Twenty-seconds into the second quarter, Jackson Nordboe battled his way in the paint to score the first two of the second quarter. Sophomore Isaac Kelly launches a long three to add to the 'Beeter score. Senior Gyme Kelly travelled coast to coast for a layup, making the score 23-14 with 5:45 left in the second quarter. The 'Beeters continue to rally as Jackson Nordboe sinks another two. Nissen gets his own rebound/put back for two to bring the score closer with 2:20 left in the game, sitting at 25-18. Chinook ends the half with the 'Beeters winning the second quarter 19-9, closing the game going into the half with the Eagles still up 32-26.

Though the 'Beeters fought hard to keep up their momentum, they fell short with the Eagles leading the third quarter 54-35. Although the 'Beeters continued to battle hard, they were unable to keep up with the Eagles, finishing the night with a 65-46 loss.

Saturday night the 'Beeters traveled west to Cut Bank to take on the Wolves. The 'Beeters lost the 1B battle 63-45. Stats and results were not provided by press time.

The 'Beeters will head to Conrad on Friday, February 9 to take on the Conrad Cowboys and will return home for the final contest of the season to take on their old 9C foes, the Chester Joplin Inverness Hawks, and honor the 2024 seniors. The following week the 'Beeters will head to Conrad for District 1B action, February 14-17.
