Estate Planning Workshops Coming to the Hi-Line

Both the Blaine and Hill County Extension offices will be hosting Dr. Marsha Goetting on the Hi-Line for a series of Estate Planning Workshops this week.

The first workshop in the series will be held on February 15 at 1:00 p.m. at the Harlem Senior Center, which is located at 116 Main Street South in Harlem. At this site, Dr. Goetting's topic will be Transferring Your Farm or Ranch to the Next Generation.

Later that evening at 6:30, the workshop location will be the Hill County Chuckwagon at the Great Northern Fairgrounds in Havre. Here, Dr. Goetting will present Legacy Planning: Paving the Way for Your Children.

Finally, the third topic will be Tools for Avoiding Probate. This last workshop in the series will be presented on February 16 at 9:00 a.m. at the Chinook Senior Center, located at 324 Pennsylvania Street in Chinook.

A professor at Montana State University-Bozeman, Dr. Goetting received her Ph.D in Human Development and Family Studies from Iowa State University in 1996. Her teaching interests are Estate Planning and Financial Management while her research interests revolve around estate planning and farmers/ranchers living with Alzheimer's or related dementias. Dr. Goetting is also the MSU Extension Family Economics Specialist and serves as a Montana 4-H Foundation Board Member.


According to, Julianne Snedigar, Blaine County Ag, Natural Resources, and 4-H MSU Extension Agent, the organization is excited to be hosting the award-winning Dr. Goetting. "Please share information about the Hi-Line Estate Planning Workshops with anyone you think might be interested," she invited.
