It’s Spring Cleaning Time! The Chinook Zion Lutheran Church LWML is collecting items to send to the Orphan Grain Train (https://www.ogt.org/), a Christian volunteer network that ships donated food, clothing, medical and other needed items to people in 71 different countries including the USA. We will be loading the trailer April 21.
They will take:
• Bars of soap (bath and travel size)
• Plastic soap box holders
• Toothbrushes
• Sturdy combs
• School supplies (kid’s backpack, spiral notebooks, pencils, pens, sheets of construction paper, crayons, rulers, glue sticks, scissors (child and adult), erasers, colored pencils (12 count), pencil sharpener, chalk (12 pack), chalkboard eraser, highlighters, clipboard, red pens, pocket folders, sheets of stickers (stars or smiley faces)
• Stuffed toys
Medical Equipment and Supplies
• Disposable gowns and gloves
• Hospital beds (hand-crank with vinyl mattresses)
• Prosthetic limbs
• Walkers, wheel chairs, crutches and canes
• Stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, & otoscopes
Clothing (gently used or new)
• Infant, children’s, women’s and men’s clothes
• Shoes clean and wearable
• New underwear (only)—all ages and sizes (Customs officials will levy fines if used underwear is sent in the shipments.)
• Socks (good used or new)
Miscellaneous Items
• Bicycles
• Sports Equipment (soccer balls, basketballs, baseball equipment [bats, baseballs, gloves, uniforms] shoes, goals, etc.)
• Dishes
• Pots & pans
• Furniture
• Luggage
• Bed and bath linens (sheets, quilts, comforters, blankets, towels, washcloths: All sizes are needed)
• Bed pillows
• Beds (new or used)
They cannot accept
• Knick knacks
• Holiday decorations
• Decorative pillows
Bring your stuff to Zion Lutheran Church basement April 6 from 9-11 AM so it will get sorted, boxed and labeled. If you want or need to drop things off prior to April 6 please call Arlys Williams at 406-357-3419 or 406-799-2019 to arrange a time and date. Also, please bring any clean cardboard boxes with closable lids that you have with you to the church basement.
