A total solar eclipse will take place April 8 in parts of our country. Although in our area it will only be a partial eclipse the library will celebrate this memorable event. On Friday, April 5 Carly will be outside the library (weather permitting) passing out information about the eclipse as well as protective viewing glasses. On the day of the eclipse, Monday, April 8, local expert Eva English will be at the library shortly after we open at 11 A.M. to share information, answer questions, give demonstrations, and livestream the event from other parts of the country experiencing a total eclipse. The event begins when the edge of the moon touches the edge of the sun at about 11:44 a.m. The eclipse maximum will occur at about 12:46 p.m. and will conclude at 1:49 p.m. Stop by the library and join our viewing party!
