Victor Wayne Finley

Victor Wayne Finley passed away May 3, 2024, at Kalispell Montana,

He was born May 27, 1942 at Bremerton, Washington to Raymond Thomas and Isabel Kathleen Feist Finley. He was raised in the Milk River Valley of Blaine County Montana from the age of 9 months, and graduated Chinook High School in 1961. He married Betty Jean Knettel on February 3, 1962 at St. Gabriel's Church, Chinook, Montana. Two daughters, Joanne Kathleen and Dana Marie, were born to this marriage.

Vic spent his life farming, water well drilling, on the B&B for Burlington Northern Railroad, in the oil fields of Northcentral Montana, Johnnies Standard Station, and various other ventures. He was always interested in how things worked and gained boundless hands-on knowledge from those experiences. He was a Board Member of the North Central Montana Sugar Beet Growers Association; and Director of the Jaycees Demolition Derby for several years. Before retiring he spent 20 years as the Combine Rebuild Supervisor/Specialist at Meissner Tractors/Torgersen Implement in Havre, Montana. He was a member of the Board of the Swan Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

After moving to Swan Lake in 2007 Vic faced numerous health issues, but he was persistent, never gave up, and always looked for the positive things in life. His happy attitude was an inspiration to his family and friends. Vic was so proud of his children and grandchildren and looked forward to hearing what they were doing in their lives. Vic enjoyed playing cards, bowling, gardening, fishing, and hunting, working in his shop, traveling, helping those in need, and those special Saturday's at the Swan Chapel Coffee Gathering.

Vic was preceded in death by his mother in 1953, brother Joseph in 1962, father in 1968, daughter Dana in 2000, and brother Ken in 2023. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, daughter Joanne (Todd) Chapman, grandchildren Andrea (Cameron) Wood, Zackary Chapman, and Sterling Bingham, beloved nieces and nephews.
