    The Blaine County Commission has started the process to update the County’s 2012 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). A Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) is a budgeting and financial tool that will be used by the County Commission to set maintenance and repair priorities for things such as roads and buildings. The plan will also identify funding mechanisms for those repairs and improvements.     Members of the North Central Montana Shrine Club are expecting to receive their usual shipment of three tons of Vidalia onions "sometime around the 20th of May." The annual sale of the delectable Georgia onion, according to Shrine officials, is their best fundraiser of the year. Onion sale proceeds provide money to help kids, and their families, with travel expenses to the Shriners' Hospital in Spokane. Parents who live more than 3 miles from a school that does not provide bus transportation or more than 3 miles from the nearest bus stop may be entitled to reimbursement for transporting their child.   • Blood Drive collects 47 units from 52 donors

    On Tuesday, May 9th, the American Red Cross Blood Drive at Wallner Hall welcomed 52 donors with a total of 47 units collected on a goal of 47. Two first time donors were registered; Evelyn Schubert and Ian McIntosh. Tammy Williams received a 2 gallon pin and Carla Jenewein received a 4 gallon pin. Each unit collected saves three lives.     Wanda Marilyn Morris Ragan 78 of Green River, WY formally of Blaine County and Big Sandy, Montana passed away Jan. 18, 2017 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah after a hard fought battle with Pulmonary Hypertension surrounded by family. Mom was born March 10, 1938 in Harlem, MT the 5th child and only daughter of Gail and Fay(Statelen) Morris. On Sept. 11, 1955 she married the Love of her LifeJames H. Ragan in Big Sandy, Montana. Leatrice was born on August 1, 1931, to Arthur and Vioka Butler. She was raised on a farm South of Big Sandy, with her brother, Ellsworth.
