Blood Drive collects 47 units from 52 donors

May 17, 2017

On Tuesday, May 9th, the American Red Cross Blood Drive at Wallner Hall welcomed 52 donors with a total of 47 units collected on a goal of 47. Two first time donors were registered; Evelyn Schubert and Ian McIntosh. Tammy Williams received a 2 gallon pin and Carla Jenewein received a 4 gallon pin. Each unit collected saves three lives. We are grateful for each and every one of these life saving gifts and look forward to seeing you again in July.

The canteen was hosted by St. Gabriels Catholic Church and keeping those goodie plates filled all day were Nita Jergeson, Patty Hall, Rita Langford, Evelyn Schubert, Vernilia Tilleman, Peggy Harry, Carol Elliot and Barb Jergeson. Pastor Jack Mattingly and the United Methodist Church provided the site for the drive. Volunteers at the registration table were Carla Jenewein, Patty Treftz and Judy Johnson. Those assisting with clean up after the drive were Colleen Mulonet and the Red Cross staff. Finley's Food Farm donates the drinks and paper products for each drive. Your willingness and dedication to the Red Cross Blood Drive is very much appreciated. It couldn't be done without you.

Door prizes were provided by the Catholic Church and the North Central Montana Cattlewoman. They were awarded to Ken Schubert, Elaine Hamilton, Taylor Neibauer, Shirley MacKenzie, Sandra Sorenson, Diana Reishus, Rhonda Brewer, Elizabeth Finley, Tawnya Brown, and Ian McIntosh.

Last, but certainly not least, every year for the past four years a group of graduating seniors have been recognized at their graduation ceremony for their completion of the Red Cord Honors Program and their dedication to the American Red Cross. This year the following seniors earned a Red Cross Honor Cord in recognition of their commitment to saving lives; Trevor Reid, Wade Schneider, Rochelle Chaffin, Brooke Elliot, Kyler Johnson, Abbie Conner, Taylor Neibauer, Tawnya Brown, Kelsey Mathon and Nicole McCracken.

The American Red Cross would like to encourage each of you to continue to support your community by donating blood or volunteering your time. You are wished the best for a successful future.
