This 1964 photo shows the fire at Buttreys Store that once sat across Indiana Street from the current grocery store (it's a vacant lot now). In April, 1964, Buttreys executives announced plans to build a new store in Chinook. The old store burned in late May of that year and the new store (now housing Finley's Food Farm) opened on December 10 of the same year.
