Adult Ed Classes

November 18, 2015

The Big Flat Community Grain Bin, Inc. announces a broad itinerary of Adult Education courses being offered at Turner for Fall 2015/Spring2016. The curriculum, in its fourth successful year, offers a broad spectrum of courses that were chosen based on input and requests from members of the local area known as the Big Flat.

Shannon Van Voast is again the coordinator of this year’s program, and she encourages everyone to participate. Registration forms and class descriptions can be found on the group’s Facebook page, or at http://www.turnermontana.us, or by contacting her at 406-379-2243.

A short list of the classes being offered includes guitar, quilting and knitting projects, crafting projects, self defense, calving nutrition, grain marketing, estate planning, digital scrapbooking, agricultural topics, fitness, genealogy, and business education.

All proceeds after expenses benefit the non-profit foundation established in 2011 to “build upon the foundations established by previous generations by enhancing and supporting the charitable efforts of local organizations and the public school.”

They have awarded several academic scholarships and a handful of community grants, as well as helped provide resources and man-power to establish other organizations and services in the community, for example a grocery cooperative, and are currently working with the volunteer EMS and fire departments on projects that will benefit the region.
