Vern was born on September 15, 1928 in Great Falls, MT. He attended school in Hogeland, MT and served in the army in the Korean War. Vern married Lois Randells; they later divorced. He married Glorraine T. Stiffarm on June 5, 1957. They were blessed with seven children.

Vern's heritage and life-long dream was in the farming community. His roots were always in farming and in his last days, he talked often about returning to farming in the Hogeland area at the Cichosz family farm. Vern worked for many farmers in the Hogeland area, including driving truck with his father and his brother-in-law Frank Kiedrowski. He worked for the railroad for a time also. In Havre, MT Vern worked for Mayflower Trucking, Vita-Rich Dairy, Hi-Line Auto, and he retired from Havre Public Schools Maintenance Department. He loved dancing and danced as often as he could. All ladies, young and old, would ask Vern to dance, because he was such a great dancer. Many of his family and friends have fond memories of watching Vern and Glorraine dancing the perfect dance that many married couples enjoy. He also enjoyed softball and golfing. Others think of Vernon as a bridge between the Polish and Native American Cultures, crossing cultural lines with his friendliness, smile, and warm handshake.

Vern was preceded in death by his wife, Glorraine, his parents, Leo and Elizabeth, his brothers Leon, Tom, Bob, Joe, and his sister Lorraine Kiedrowski.

He is survived by his brother Georgie (Cathie) of Hays, MT and his sisters, Marianne Williams of Great Falls, MT, Delores Newton of Windsor Locks, CT, Helen (Dale) Dahlquist of Stevensville, MT, Barb (Glen) Lewis of Harlem MT, and sister-in law Hazel Cichosz of Great Falls, MT, his sons Vern Jr. (Debbie), Dave, and Mark, all of Havre, MT, and his daughters Verna Otis, Cathie of Missoula, MT, Marcia Morsette of Great Falls, MT, Kay Cichosz (Brian Buskirk) of Havre, MT, and Judy (John) Danaher of Danville, VA. Vern is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to one's choice.

Farewell, brother, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, dear friend, we will see you soon.
