The Turner Tornadoes and Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks met in a District 9C clash in Turner last Monday with the visitors claiming a 65-37 win over the Tornadoes.

The Hawks are considered to be among one of the three teams to advance to the Northern C Divisional come February, but that didn't stop a young Turner squad from making them compete start to finish.

The Tornadoes outscored the visitors 10-2 over the final eight minutes and played the second half to a score of 17-19 as the younger players were able to gain some valuable experience.

Senior Tyler Humphreys led the Tornadoes with nine markers.

Turner will return to the court January 5 when they will travel to Dodson to take on the Coyotes. January 8 the team will host Hays/Lodge Pole. They will take on Chinook the following night.
