Wildcats drop a pair to Shelby, Poplar

The Harlem Wildcats had a tough go of things this past weekend.

Friday they were bested at home by the Shelby Coyotes of the District 1B 70-55. Saturday the boys traveled east to Polar to take on District 2B Poplar falling in that contest 88-55.

Against the Coyotes, Harlem found themselves in a battle early as they trailed just 16-15 after one.

Shelby pushed the lead to 38-28 by halftime.

The Wildcats turned momentum in their favor after the break outscoring Shelby 17-12 in the third to trim the lead to 50-45 entering the fourth.

The Coyotes would double up Harlem the final eight minutes to earn the 70-55 non-conference win.

Senior Corbin Brockie score 22 points for the Wildcats including three from long range.

Senior Michael Butterfly added 19 in the loss. Senior Keahna Little connected on three from beyond the arc for 10 points.

Harlem will host Malat Thursday and travel to Wolf Point on Saturday.
