The Montana Seed Show's Famous Chili Cook Off is something everyone can enjoy

Kick off for the Harlem Seed Show begins Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Harlem High School. Thursday is entry day for Woodworking as well as both Commercial and Educational booths. Wool judging will also be taking place and will be open to public.

The famous Chili Cook-Off will begin at 6 p.m. as well, however the chili must be set up and entered by 5 p.m. on March 10. Judges will start at 5:30 and the public may start at 6 p.m. to vote for the People’s Choice. This year there will be 2 divisions, People’s Choice and Judges Choice. The only paying places will be first place. $150 to the winner of Judges Choice and $150 will also go to the winner of People’s Choice. In order to receive the prize money however you must be at the banquet on Saturday night of the Seed Show. There will be no exceptions.

Friday, March 11, Breakfast will start at 6:30 a.m. and will end at 9:00 a.m. Blood Screenings and the Health fair will be taking place from 6:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. as well on Friday. At 8:00 a.m.

The Art Show can begin set up and will have until 10:00 a.m. to finish. The award money for the adult and youth divisions each is $100 this year. The Art Auction will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Pies and Breads can also be entered from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. Four places will be giving awards. Starting with First place with $400 cash from the R.T. “Bob” Rasmussen Memorial. Second place will be $300 donated by Columbia Grain. Third place is $200 and is donated by Harlem Lumber. Fourth place is $100 and is donated by Bank of Harlem this year. All previous winners 2010 or earlier are not eligible to take place in the contest.

Saturday, March 12, 2016 is the final day of the Seed Show. To start the day there will be breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and the exhibit building will be open at 8:00 a.m. Kids Day “Hands on History is from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m. which will be presented by H. Earl Clack Foundation of Havre. This will be taking place in the South Hallway of the Harlem High School.

The Quilt show begins at 10:00 am and goes to 3:30 p.m. Winners will be chose by popular vote, the People’s Choice gets voted by the public at large and Guild Choice will be voted by members of the Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild. They are not judged.

Classic Car show in the Vo Ag room will start at 10:00 a.m. and go until 4:00 p.m. The People’s Choice award will be given in each category.

To end three fun filled days at the Seed Show take down and exhibit removal begins at 4:00 p.m. and the Banquet will wrap up the evening starting at 7:00 p.m. The auctioneer this year will be Bob Sivertsen and Wylie and The Wild West will be the entertainment for the evening.
