'Beeter boys start fast win in Shelby, Fort Benton, girls second in Shelby

The Chinook boys varsity golf team won the Shelby Invitational Friday to begin the season and added a second team win Saturday at Signal Pint Golf Club in Fort Benton at the Belt/Centerville Invitational. They are (L-R), Head coach Mike Seymour, senior Jake Norby, senior Ian McIntosh, senior Kade Friede and senior Derek Bell.

The Chinook Sugarbeeter golf team got their season off to a fast start this past weekend as the boys team won championships in Shelby and Fort Benton over the weekend and the girls recorded a team score that was good for second in Shelby.

The boys posted a three person score of 256 to easily outdistance runner up Fort Benton (282) in Shelby.

Saturday in Fort Benton the team posted a 267 to win by 12 strokes over Class B Choteau in the event held at the Signal Point golf course and hosted by the Belt Huskies and Centerville Miners.
