Please stop by the library tomorrow, Thursday, April 14 between 3-7 P.M. for an open house we are hosting in observance of National Library Week. This will give you an opportunity to see the completed remodeling project and to enjoy refreshments. This week we are asking patrons to fill out questionnaires that will give input as the library board devises the new long-range strategic plan. When you complete the questionnaire your name will be entered into a drawing for a door prize.

“The Girl in the Red Coat” is by Kate Hamer. Single mother Beth’s constant worry materializes when her dreamy eight-year-old daughter, Carmel, goes missing when they are separated at a local outdoor festival. Even after the authorities tell Beth that Carmel may be gone for good, Beth relentlessly keeps searching. Meanwhile, Carmel is on a journey to an unexpected place living by her wits keeping the vision of her mother in her head.

The latest Isaac Bell adventure from Clive Cussler is “The Gangster.” In 1906 detective Bell is working to protect immigrants from the organization known as the Black Hand that takes advantage using blackmail, extortion, and sabotage. As the Black Hand set their sights higher on political targets, Bell knows he must stop them before the next life lost could be the most powerful man in the nation.

“Fast Into the Night” by Debbie Clarke Moderow is the true tale of a woman, her dogs, and their journey north on the Iditarod Trail.

Three new additions to the Montana Collection include “The Montana Medicine Show’s Genuine Montana History” by B. Derek Strahn, “Haunted Helena: Montana’s Queen City Ghosts” by Ellen Baumler, and “Blacktail Cave and Bear Stories” by Tag Rittel.

Linwood Barclay is the writer of “Far From True.” In Private Falls P.I. Cal Weaver is investigating a break-in at the home of a recently deceased man. What he finds is a hidden room in the basement that was used for salacious or possibly illegal activities. Also a cache of DVDs is missing. Police detective Barry Duckworth is trying to solve two murders, which he believes are connected. The solution may be entwined with Weaver’s case. The two find themselves uncovering a dark secret as the sins of the past and the present collide.

“A Few of the Girls” is a collection of the very best of the short stories by beloved author Maeve Binchy, who passed away in 2012. You will enjoy these writings filled with “the signature warmth and humor that have always been an essential part of Maeve’s appeal.”

“Crazy Blood” by T. Jefferson Parker is a novel about a fierce rivalry between Wylie Welborn and his half-brother Sky and the women in their lives who are caught up in a Carson family ski-resort dynasty.
