The regular meeting of the library board will be Monday, May 23, 9 A.M. in the library meeting room. The library will be closed May 30 in observance of Memorial Day.

The Summer Reading program “On You Mark, Get Set...READ!” registration opens May 31. Parents are encouraged bring their children ages preschool through grade six to sign up. You may also register on our Facebook page or email the library at harlemlib@live.com. Family Fun Night will be June 1, 6:30-8:00. This evening kicks off the summer reading program with stories, games, prizes, and treats! Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Call the library for more information at 353-2712.

Lego Club will resume meeting June 2, from 6-7 P.M. There will be NO Story Hour May 20 and 27.

“Journey to Munich” is the latest Maisie Dobbs novel by Jacqueline Winspear. In 1938 Maisie has returned to England from war-torn Spain only to be intercepted by the Secret Service. The German government has agreed to release a British citizen from prison only if he is turned over to a family member. Since his wife is deceased and his daughter is gravely ill, Maisie is chosen to impersonate the daughter and makes a dangerous journey to Munich to bring the prisoner home.

Bestselling author Heather Graham has written the romantic thriller “Flawless.” Kieran Finnegan is a criminal psychologist in New York City. FBI agent Craig Frasier is investigating a rash of thefts in the Diamond District. They meet at a jewelry story: she’s there to return a diamond her younger brother stole and he’s there to stop the gang of thieves. Kieran and Craig find themselves working together on the case. But evidence begins to show that Kieran’s family’s pub is somehow involved.

“Dream Home” is by HGTV’s Property Brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott. This work is packed with beautiful photos and covers everything from buying, selling, and renovating your home.

The newest China Bayles mystery is “Blood Orange” by Susan Wittig Albert. China is renting her guest cottage to Kelly Kaufman who is going through an ugly divorce. One major point of dispute is the Comanche Creek Brewing Company which Kelly refuses to sell. Meanwhile, at the local hospice where Kelly works, suspicious practices are surfacing, including the questionable death of a patient. When Kelly is force off the road and ends up hospitalized on life support, China must find out who wanted her out of the picture.

“Headwaters” by Nancy Leonard is the first in a series of novels set in Northern Montana, including Glacier Park and the Blackfeet Nation. Paul Thomas has a great job teaching at the college level and a relationship with the beautiful Cora. However, he is haunted by the death of his father in the military followed his mother’s death, for which he is responsible. His only remaining family is his brother, Sam, who feels nothing but hatred for Paul. To get back at his brother Sam kidnaps Cora and she is nearly killed during an escape attempt. Both men try to move beyond their tormented pasts as they have the ultimate confrontation.

Another political thriller by Steve Berry is “The 14th Colony.” Justice Department agent Cotton Malone is shot down over Siberia and must fight for survival against Aleksander Zorin, who has an intense hatred for the U.S. Zorin’s plan is to take advantage of a flaw in the Constitution and in the presidential succession act by assassinating the president and vice-president on Inauguration Day. Malone is on a race to stop Zorin before total political chaos ensues.
