Vacation Bible School set for Chinook, weekend of June 20-23

June 8, 2016

Chinook’s JUMP, a Christian youth group, will be offering a vacation Bible school program in conjunction with this year’s Loaves and Fishes summer feeding program. The four-day Bible school will meet at Sweet Park, next to the city swimming pool, on Monday through Thursday, June 20-23.

Each day of Bible school will begin with lunch provided through Loaves and Fishes. Lunch will be served, at the park, at 12 noon each day before the Bible school program. After lunch will be crafts, Bible stories, songs and games. This year’s theme will be “Unlikely heroes—how God uses ordinary people in super ways.” According to Chrissy Downs, one of the adult leaders with JUMP, the theme follows the program also being used in the Loaves and Fishes program this summer. JUMP members will be teaching and helping with the Bible school program.

Downs said this will be the third time JUMP has conducted the summer Bible program in recent years. For a few summers a group from Shepherd of the Hill, a religious organization based in Puyallup, Washington, did the Bible school with help from JUMP students.

There is no charge for the Bible school program or meal each day. Vacation Bible school is open to all children, preschool (must be old enough to work in a group) to sixth grade.
